Improving Health Transforming Lives Faith-Based, Whole Person,
Community Centered Care

LLCHC Current Facility

In 2001, the need to establish health care services in Franklinton became increasingly urgent as a prominent physician in the neighborhood retired, and budget cuts closed the Franklinton Health Center run by the Columbus Health Department. The community of Franklinton, with the highest poverty rates in all of Franklin County, resulting in poor health outcomes, had very little, if any, access to primary health care. In response to this need, Dr. Dana Vallangeon opened Lower Lights Christian Health Center (LLCHC), a 501(c) (3) faith-based community health center in the spring of 2002.

The mission of Lower Lights Christian Health Center from the very beginning has been to demonstrate the love of Christ through holistic high quality care to all who need it regardless of ability to pay.

Dr. Dana heard God’s call to medical missions at age 16 and over time knew that it would be fulfilled by ministering in an inner city here in America. She, her husband and children now live, work, worship and serve in Franklinton.
